The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) has inducted renowned jewellery designer, artist, and educator Reena Ahluwalia into the Hall of Fame at the IIJS Signature 2025 Show.
Supported by India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the recognition acknowledges significant lifetime achievements and contributions to the jewellery industry.
This year’s Hall of Fame focused on recognising women leaders who have driven innovation and progress within the sector. Ahluwalia was honoured alongside five other notable women for her contributions to the industry.
Celebrating Women Leaders
The Hall of Fame also recognised Farah Khan Ali, Revathi Kant, Dr. Usha Balakrishnan, Vaishali Banerjee, and Pallavi Foley. These women were commended for their efforts in shaping the jewellery industry and influencing its evolution, creating opportunities for future generations.
The GJEPC outlined Ahluwalia’s diverse achievements, noting:
“We are delighted and proud to honor Reena Ahluwalia with the ‘Hall of Fame’ recognition,” stated GJEPC. “Her contributions have played a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the gem and jewelry sector. Reena Ahluwalia’s outstanding journey as a globally recognized artist, jewelry designer, and professor has set benchmarks in innovation and artistry, including making historical imprints. Her achievements include inventing path-breaking jewelry designs and techniques, a Guinness World Record-winning watch and creating the diamond setting for the historic Mace of Ontario. Reena has been leading industry in technology and blockchain, as well as building and strategizing impactful, world-class diamond and jewelry projects. She is a respected historian and a sought-after speaker. Importantly, her dedication to mentoring future generations through her role as a professor and a Fellow has left an indelible mark on the jewellery world and society.”
The organisation also highlighted her role as a professor and mentor, recognising her efforts in guiding the next generation of jewellers.
Reena Ahluwalia’s Response
Commenting on the recognition, Ahluwalia said:

Retailers Recognised for Market Contributions
In addition to honouring the six women leaders, the Hall of Fame also recognised six Indian jewellery retailers that have successfully conducted Initial Public Offerings (IPOs). The inductees include P.N. Gadgil Jewellers, RBZ Jewellers, Motisons Jewellers, Manoj Vaibhav Gems ‘N’ Jewellers, Senco Gold, and Kalyan Jewellers. This recognition reflects the financial growth and evolving global presence of the Indian jewellery retail sector.
