What is Bluestone’s warranty policy?
Bluestone offers different types of warranties based on your purchase. The 30-Day Money Back Policy allows you to return most jewellery items within 30 days for a full refund. This policy does not apply to solitaires priced above INR 3 lakh or coins. For eligible items, you can receive a refund to your original payment method, or choose to get Blue Credits for future purchases. However, these credits cannot be converted back into cash.
Another option is the Lifetime Exchange & Buy-Back Policy, which is available for all purchases made within India. This allows you to either exchange or sell back your jewellery based on the current market value. If you initiate this process online, a processing fee of ₹500 is charged for shipping and handling, but this fee is waived if you handle the exchange at a Bluestone store. If you used a discount or received a gift when purchasing the item, Bluestone will deduct the equivalent value from your refund or exchange unless the gift is returned.
What’s covered by Bluestone’s warranty?
Bluestone’s warranty covers various issues related to manufacturing and defects. If your jewellery has any craftsmanship or material defects, Bluestone will repair or replace it at no additional cost. This includes situations where your jewellery arrives damaged or defective.
For the Lifetime Exchange & Buy-Back Policy, Bluestone offers full market value for gold and platinum components when you exchange or sell back your jewellery. For diamonds and gemstones, the exchange value is 100%, while the buy-back value is 90% of the current market rate. In the case of solitaire jewellery, the buy-back value ranges from 80% to 90% of the market rate, depending on the value of the piece.
What isn’t covered by Bluestone’s warranty?
Bluestone’s warranty has some exclusions that are important to keep in mind. It does not cover regular wear and tear, such as scratches or fading, or the loss of stones due to accidental impact or misuse. If your jewellery has been altered or repaired by someone other than Bluestone, it will not be eligible for warranty services. For solitaire jewellery, losing the original certificate will result in a deduction of ₹3500 per certificate during the buy-back process, and this deduction can be higher for larger solitaires based on their size.
These exclusions are standard in jewellery warranties, as they ensure that the integrity and traceability of the product remain intact.
Other things you should know about Bluestone’s warranty policy
For products returned under the 30-day money back policy, Bluestone covers all return shipping costs across India. This means you won’t have to pay any additional fees when returning an item within this period.
When it comes to using the Lifetime Exchange & Buy-Back Policy, keep in mind that if you initiate the request online, a ₹500 processing fee will be applied for shipping and handling. This fee is waived if you visit a Bluestone store in person.
If you received a piece of jewellery as a gift and want to use the warranty, you will need the original proof of purchase. This can be difficult if you don’t have access to this information, so it’s best to communicate with the person who purchased the item for you.
Additionally, if your Bluestone product was bought from a non-Bluestone store, there is an extra 5% deduction from the exchange or buy-back value. Items purchased from these stores are not eligible for the standard buy-back or exchange policies.
Understanding these details will help you make the most of Bluestone’s warranty options and avoid any unexpected surprises.
If you have any issues with your jewellery contact their customer service team here, and they’ll request you to send the piece back for inspection.
