The 12th edition of the Delhi Jewellery & Gem Fair (DJGF), organised by Informa Markets in India, concluded successfully at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, featuring more than 650 exhibitors and showcased over 150,000 jewellery designs, marking its largest edition to date.
Record-Breaking Participation and Offerings
With over 700 brands participating, this year’s DJGF presented a broad spectrum of both traditional and contemporary jewellery, spanning gold, silver, diamonds, pearls, and gemstones. Alongside the diverse collection of materials, the event emphasised the latest advancements in jewellery design and production technology.
The DJGF Silver Show, held in Hall No. 2, focused on silver jewellery collections. The fair also featured an extensive collection of gold, Polki, and diamond jewellery, with a strong presence from the loose diamond sector.
Industry Impact and Attendee Engagement
The fair attracted over 25,000 industry professionals, serving as a key meeting point for jewellers, import-export merchants, and stakeholders ahead of the festive and wedding seasons, which drive high demand in India’s jewellery market.
At the opening of the event, several industry leaders were in attendance, including Pramod Derewala, Chairman of NGJIC, who said, “It was a privilege to be part of this prestigious gathering. The role of marketing and design in driving our industry’s growth cannot be overstated, and I applaud the government’s initiatives, which have given a tremendous boost to our sector. I also commend the organisers for spotlighting silver and promoting handcrafted jewellery, which encapsulates the rich cultural heritage of India.”
Nirupa Bhatt, a leading industry expert, highlighted the importance of recognising talent within the sector, saying, “Beyond the impressive business activity on the show floor, I was inspired by the additional features, particularly the Retail Jewellers Guild Awards, which provided an outstanding platform to highlight talent and bring more attention to our industry. The Shakti recognition, honouring women’s contributions, was especially significant, as women’s involvement is key to our sector’s evolution. Their perspectives in design and merchandising are crucial to sustaining our industry’s success.”
Focus on Craftsmanship and Innovation
The theme for the event, “Celebrating Craftsmanship and Innovation,” highlighted the integration of traditional techniques with modern design approaches. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in panel discussions covering topics such as women’s empowerment in the industry, responsible sourcing, and the evolving jewellery market. Sessions also explored retail trends, customer experience, and new opportunities in the gems and jewellery export market.
Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director of Informa Markets in India, emphasised the significance of the event, stating, “The Delhi Jewellery & Gem Fair captures the dynamism and innovation that define India’s jewellery industry. With gem and jewellery imports soaring to US$ 1.55 billion in June 2024, this year’s edition showcased designs that reflect India’s heritage and the industry’s global presence. This platform opened new horizons for wholesalers, retailers, manufacturers, and investors alike.”

The DJGF was part of Informa Markets in India’s ‘Festivity of Business’ campaign, a series of events aimed at fostering collaboration and dialogue within the jewellery industry.
