The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) has initiated the third batch of its export training programme in Delhi, aimed at providing practical guidance for individuals interested in entering the gem and jewellery export sector. The initiative is being managed by GJEPC’s Northern Regional Office under the title “How to Start Exports of Gems and Jewellery.”
Hybrid Sessions Focused on Export Fundamentals
The programme is conducted in a hybrid format, with one-day and three-day sessions available both online and in person. It focuses on introducing the procedures involved in exporting goods from India, specifically in the context of the gem and jewellery industry.
The most recent batch included 13 participants, with six attending online and seven taking part in person. The hybrid format allows participation from individuals located outside Delhi or those with limited availability.
Industry Interaction and Knowledge Sharing
During the programme, Shri Antarpal Singh Sawhney, Regional Chairman (North), GJEPC, addressed attendees. He shared examples from his experience in the industry and spoke about considerations involved in entering international markets.
According to GJEPC, the training covers practical aspects such as documentation, compliance, logistics, and overseas market entry processes relevant to jewellery exporters.
Support for Export Readiness in the Trade
As India continues to be a major exporter of gems and jewellery, such programmes aim to familiarise new entrants with international trade requirements. They are part of efforts to provide guidance to businesses entering export markets, including smaller enterprises or those with limited prior experience.
Jewellers seeking further information on upcoming sessions and registration details are advised to contact the GJEPC Northern Regional Office.
